About DragonArtist15

DragonArtist15 is a digital art studio founded in 2020, specializing in custom 3D digital files for 3D printing, 3D-printed masks and fursuit heads, and 2D digital artwork. Featured work spans birds, dinosaurs, dragons, and other fantasy creatures — commissions welcome.

DragonArtist15 has been drawing since the age of 2, starting with markers, crayons, and paint. Art has always been a way to express interests and unwind — from insects and video game characters to dragons, fantasy creatures, birds, and dinosaurs. The COVID-19 pandemic became an opportunity to learn new tools, laying the foundation for turning that lifelong habit into DragonArtist15.

Stories along the way

Meeting Paul Sereno

Early on, a visit to Paul Sereno's fossil lab at the University of Chicago offered a first close look at real dinosaur specimens outside of photographs and museum glass, and a conversation with Sereno about how these animals actually looked and moved. That visit reset the bar for every skull and sculpture made since -- proportions, textures, and anatomy are now checked against real fossil reference before a piece is called finished, not just against other people's art.

Cosplayers Making It Their Own

Convention-goer wearing a full fursuit costume

More than once, a convention floor has turned up someone wearing a costume built on top of a DragonArtist15 model -- repainted, resized, or combined with their own sculpting and fabrication work into something entirely their own. Seeing a design leave the file and come back as somebody else's finished costume, worn and photographed in the wild, is one of the most rewarding parts of putting these models out into the world.
